Scarsdale Diet

The Scarsdale Diet is one of the most popular weight loss programs in the world, according to its author. Based on a 2 week program of high protein, low fat and low carbs. He claims it is more healthy than the Atkins Diet because of a few complex carbs from fruits and bread. The diet has 5 fourteen day menus that also includes a forever stay slim program.

The main idea is to do away with most carbs and control the eating of others. The carbs that are allowed are mostly natural whole grains but in controlled amounts. The fats are allowed but on to a safe level, not to overdo the cutback.

Previously noted, the diet is for 2 weeks, but then comes a period of not following the diet. The reason for this is to prevent you and your body from conforming to the diet requirements. This cycle makes best use of the diet's process for you.

The Scarsdale Diet plainly directs you to what foods need to be consumed daily. It is an adult plan for those without any special food needs or requirements. You will have to give up those snacks that you love and you will be allowed to take herbal suppressants for appetite. You will find that the meal consists of protein from lean sources, vegetables and fruits in amounts that are not limited. For instance, snacks can be consumed between meals if it is carrots or celery. No alcohol drinks are allowed but club soda, diet sodas, coffee, tea and water are permitted.
